Which do you prefer? Which do you think is better? Which has more speed?

Tell us what you think of it and tell us if speed is dependent on location, cause' I don't know ^^;

Please post comments.

I have equal speed for both, but megaupload is preference by me, since I use it all the time. Megaupload Free Premium is also a huge bonus for just a small, harmless toolbar.

In general I use Torrent. ^^

I voted for Megaupload but I have to admit that I never used Mediafire before. So I don't know if you want to count my vote. ^^

Me and torrents + speed = 0.

Not really, but I get usually 30kbp/s and that's horrid. My upload speed is horrid as well. I enabled ports and everything too D: uTorrent just doesn't like me.

It's preferable that you try both, since this is a poll of comparison, but that's alright. As long as it isn't just some random vote XD

30kb/s are far more than I have. XD

I didn't vote without thinking.
-I don't know anybody who is using Mediafire.
-The people I know use Megaupload for big files and Rapidshare for small ones.
-Megaupload seem's to be more popular than Mediafire.

I can't say if Megaupload is better than Mediafire but I simply never used it.
I will try Mediafire when i'm back home, but I don't believe it will change my vote. ^^

Hehe, I've been getting a few complaints from fellow mIRC members that Mediafire is slow. But someone on the forums suggested it, so depending on this poll, Mediafire will either be added or kept away.

I see Megaupload as everything you've just said, but the only problem is that there's a limit to how much you can download. Megaupload toolbar counters that and allows you to have Premium Membership for a limited amount of time, same time, everyday. Within reason as well.

Note: If 30kbp/s is more than you have, why do you use it regularly? XD Find the DDL links. Razz or find an mIRC bot

You can add Mediafire if it can help other people but I wouldn't replace Megaupload. ^^

p.s. 30kb/s is only if I download really large files. If it's only one episode I get much more like 150kb/s and even sometimes over 500kb/s ^^

Hmm... I guess I'll try adding Mediafire and see how things go down.

I'll keep this up as just a regular poll XD

Bleeeh... Uploading is such a drag D:

Last time I used something other than Megaupload, it crashed my computer XD

If you have uTorrent issues, try using Mods by others, a safe and useful one is a half.open modification Very Happy(mines set to 50, but most non-modified users are stuck at 8 Very Happy)! greatly increases ones download speed, (i go about 180kbps) . You may also need to modify your global connection number and maximum connections per a torrent. Also having a good amount of trackers is also a good idea Very Happy.

Note: the half.open modification is safe, however if you dont have proper protection, virus' which use 'open half open ports' to connect to others to spread themselves? or so i've heard.

The only problem with Megaupload is that you have to wait 45 secs before downloading, and that you can only download 1 thing at a time, but its definitely the faster than Mediafire for me....

Hey evassive Very Happy? is there a multi account options for megaupload? if we all chip in, we could all access and downloads.. though it might be a bad idea... people (very evol ones ) could just take that password for their own evil purposes, perhaps theres a business option, where people can be given set privileges such as downloading and uploading only Very Happy.

Yeah I can't see that turning out too well >_>...

EDIT: And apparently they monitor who access each account and they disable accounts that are used by multiple people...

IRC bots: 100kb/s - 1.25mb/s
Torrents: 20kb/s - 450kb/s
Megaupload: 175kb/s - 500kb/s
Mediafire: 30kb/s - 400kb/s

Obviously, if IIDX had an IRC channel, I'd be happy as a terrorist with a fifty-megaton missile.

I only get a decent speed on torrents if I manage to catch it within three or four days after the file is released, so I rely on MegaUpload a lot. I've only used Mediafire a couple times, but I wasn't impressed. MegaUpload > RapidShare > Mediafire > SendSpace

Now, no need to be rude Ren-kun. He's just saying that mIRC has extremely high speeds and would be extremely happy if we had a channel. We don't and unless someone offers us some decent bots, we will never have one.

Getting an IRC channel is no problem. The bots to supply the downloads is a huge problem. Not only do they cost money, but if they're not efficient, then they're not even worth buying.

Says the person who is just guessing this, but I'm pretty sure that's how it goes. It usually runs that way with things that most people like.

Suu T_T, didn't know i was actually rude gomen T_T! But either way torrent is always the best way to go Very Happy? Mega-upload is always nice to use too, but hey... buying an account just to have express downloading etc, isn't very worth too? (MAYBE).

Also i my self is willling to let people leech of episodes off me ;D

EDIT: getting TPG soon, which means unmetered Uploading!

I honestly don't think we should have anyone spend money on anything at this point of time. We have very little to offer and people aren't complaining about the Megaupload links. On the contrary, many people come here because they don't like torrent and take the Megaupload.

Until people start asking for things they want, they won't get anything.

This is the problem I had with the person at my old site. He kept on acting like we were huge and needed everything right away. He made the forums have so many useless categories when we had ZERO active users. I don't want to go around attracting attention to IIDX only to get DDOS in the end and screw everyone over.

I'd like to keep it low and keep other groups away from me until I know how to deal with them appropriately. There's a reason why many new groups never continue.

Not because there aren't enough translators. It's because other groups, like Ayako and m.3.3.w., feel they need to "shut down" others in the competition.

So please, let's keep this low profile and stick to what is satisfactory? I don't want to attract more attention than I need.

"Don't bite more than you can chew"

Edit: I'm happy you want to help Ren-kun, but there are things better off left alone.

Mmm...

9:00 PM ~ 3:00 AM - EST My time, you can download UNLIMITED amounts [Temporary Premium Account]

Right now, you can't download much over a certain amount of time and it is really annoying.

Maybe I should upload to Rapidshare as well or something.

Mediafire sucks, I can say that much.

Lucky.. well your gonna run out for the prem account too? Lifetime cost about 200 bucks for me XD.... and for me i never used rapid share before, all the animes i ever got has been through torrents. The animes by IIDX are the first ones i've downloaded (animes related) to be from megauploads Razz. Maybe someday some person will know about some uber sharing place, cheap and fast Very Happy BUWUHA

Rapidshare is very fast, but a small problem. Their file limit is a wimpy 100MB. This means any anime uploads would have to be split in half. Plus, like MegaUpload, they also have the you-can't-download-more-than-this-tiny-ass-amount-or-you-have-to-wait-23985623976-minutes thing. >_>

About the IRC, it'd be nice to get one going, but Suvi is right, with only 16 registered users on the forums, there's really no need to go out and pay an arm and a leg for bots right now. However, when the time comes, we could ask people like L9 Anime to put their bots in the channel to provide downloads.

One of the main reasons to get an IRC though, is to chat and be merry. Something I don't get to do enough of. v_v"
And a channel can be registered on AniSubs or Rizon or whatever, for free. Smile

Personally I prefer mediafire as I am banned from downloading megaupload. Beside, mediafire download speed is fast comparing to other host. The only disadvantage is that the max for each file is 100Mbps therefore, you will need to split the file if it is bigger.

Of course downloading using torrent is so much faster but sad to say, the country where I am staying has banned downloading anime using torrent therefore the only way that I can get anime is via free host.

Hmm, honestly, I prefer mediafire for everything except anime downloads xD Megaupload and mediafire both go pretty speedy for me, but last I checked, mediafire has a really tiny filesize limit, but if I'm just dling something small I dont want to have to wait 45 seconds D: I'm an impatient person and the like.
I do hate rapidshare though. Its like, I can't even see why people upload to rapidshare... it's so horrible /:
